House of Pharaohs - DRAWS

Description

Northern urbanism is an unrelenting impetus for these street-clad lyrical maestros. Once again, we are immersed in the thrill and animation of this modern collective as we take a look into the colourful yet masterful elements of their live performances in Birmingham. Playing a string of shows, the vibrancy of the stage is reproduced through the hyperactivity and entertainment of audience members and viewers alike. Following their dynamic lifestyle on the road through a DV lens, we capture and augment their irrepressible identities. A somewhat risible yet light-hearted take on the music industry, 'DRAWS' possesses a youthful flavour even the director himself cannot help but embrace through out this faded visual accompaniment.

PRIVACYDIED - nothing ever happens (Official Medley)

Description

In the wake of the release of the new album 'nothing ever happens', Alia Hassan and the Allegorical team have collaborated with London musician privacydied on a four-part music video series. Shot entirely on iPhone, each installment follows privacydied on a short journey of pain and misfortune through the tribulations of his strange existence. In his perennial search for love and acceptance, the troubled musician is faced time after time with a world that is ultimately cold and unforgiving.

In 'i know what you want' he is a rejected and graffitied party-goer; In 'heartbreak' privacydied is a boxer beaten at his own game (by a stranger in the middle of a field); in 'impasse' he is dumped by his girlfriend via text whilst filming his music video. 'stay w/ me' provides a moment of reprieve for privacydied, as he spends some 21st century family time with his younger brother.

I - 'i know what you want'
II - 'heartbreak'
III - 'impasse'

privacydied & jodimattiaccy - GLIDE!

Description

Vocalist and seasoned lyricist 'privacydied' and eclectic producer 'jodimattiaccy' present "GLIDE!" the second single from their upcoming release "atrophy". Shot by Guz Reichwald, we follow a paranoid and unstable pry struggle to navigate the comfort and convenience of modernity, as his mind slowly erodes we see the metamorphosis of his psyche. Becoming a recluse and rejecting community for the solace of his room or the vast expanse of the rural –as he rigorously trains for a war that doesn't ever seem to come.

'jodimattiaccy' creates a claustrophobic and brutally thumping synthpunk beat heavily drawing influence from power noise, gabber & hardcore techno. 'privacydied' compliments this sound, like nails on a chalkboard, aggressively screeching at the top of his lungs washed in a heavy distortion and cavernous delay and reverb. Delivering lyrics which express a deep desire for revenge and retribution like an anti-hero delving into vigilantism for his own self serving interests.

privacydied & jodimattiaccy - metastasised

Description

Vocalist and seasoned lyricist 'privacydied' and eclectic producer 'jodimattiaccy' present "metastasised" the first single from their upcoming release "atrophy". Employing a DIY punk aesthetic filmed impulsively inside a dusty squat rave. "privacydied" delivers a high energy performance, smashing a window and sending him to the hospital for a cut artery.

'jodimattiaccy' creates a lo-fi and thumping synthpunk beat laden with bright and twinkly synthpop melodies, while melancholic and brooding guitars wail throughout, 'privacydied' compliments this sound with abrasive and heavily distorted vocals, delivering black metal style lyrics of a depression so deep that it transcends the physical body, growing and metastasising to eventually being wholly consumed by darkness.

privacydied & jodimattiaccy - heroin mondays

Description

Vocalist and seasoned lyricist 'privacydied' and eclectic producer 'jodimattiaccy' present "heroin mondays" the first single from their upcoming release "anhedonia".

Shot by Max Woods & Jazz Chrystie, we are taken through the internal struggle, cognitive dissonance and the psychology that follows the rationalisation of the formation of habits, in this case heroin—the siren song of our protagonist realises that he would rather be torn apart and destroyed to reach oblivion in service of his exaltation.
